We owe our beginnings to the need of our founder, Gary Hillerson, to write his psychology Master's thesis in APA format. Gary Hillerson used his software and technical writing background to develop the original APA-style software product, FormatEase, in 1991.
After selling FormatEase to Guilford Publications, we decided to create a new and better APA product, using all we had learned from our customers over the years to generate a more comprehensive and more intuitive product, StyleEase for APA Style.
After that product met with great success, we applied our knowledge to creating products for students and professionals who need to write in other formats, including StyleEase for Chicago/Turabian Style and StyleEase for MLA Style.
