Release Notes for Our Products

This page contains information about the current release of each StyleEase product, including the version number, release date, and release notes for each.

Improved detection and notification of available product updates, and added the ability to handle update subscriptions.

Fixed a problem with APA running heads not showing on title pages when the paper didn't include any front matter sections.

Fixed a problem with APA web page references that contained no author, editor, or date: citations now correctly include the no date (n.d.) indicator.

Modified how StyleEase interacts with the server during startup to dramatically speed up startup time for creating or opening StyleEase documents.

Added the Deactivate ribbon tab/menu command to allow easy transferring of a StyleEase license from one computer to another.

Added internal logging capability that does not affect customers, but will allow easier debugging on customer computers in the future.

Changes in the StyleEase registration model to facilitate site licensing for our corporate, government, and educational institution customers.

Added WorldCat search and download capability to APA and MLA products, along with access via our web interface, at:

https://www.styleease.com/Worldcat/OnlineSearch.html.

Also changed the fonts and colors used in most of the forms and screens, for better integration into the MacOS environment.

Fixed a problem with online reference entry in the APA product, along with several minor bug fixes in all versions.

Updated 10/04/2011

New version of StyleEase for Chicago/Turabian Style for MacOS/Word 2011.

Chicago version updated on 10/04/2011 to fix two problems:

• Heading styles were not correctly named, which caused problems with page layout in theses and dissertations
• A problem that caused Word to shut down after dding new sections that required repagination was fixed.

Fixed a problem with the Help system not displaying properly. No code changes.

Also modified the code used to interface between the user's computer and the StyleEase server. Instead of using the built-in Unix netcat (nc) command (which proved buggy on some Macs), we are using a custom-built perl script to handle sending and receiving script call results.

New versions of our APA Style and MLA Style products for Word 2011 on MacOS, which work almost identically to their PC counterparts, and work on any Macintosh computer with a working version of Word 2011.

Note that these products do not work with Word 2004 or Word 2008 on MacOS.
