One of the hardest parts of writing is grammar. You can study it as much as you want, but an automated verification tool never hurts. At the same time, if you are engaged in content creation professionally and regularly, then no free tools will help you at the proper level – it has been repeatedly tested on yourself.

After a lot of experimentation, I settled on the Textly grammar checker service. It does a great job with typos – and I usually write quickly and do a lot of them. In addition, it fixes obvious grammatical mistakes. Conveniently, the app works as a Chrome extension, so if I need to fix a blog post on WordPress or Medium, I don’t have to copy and paste it anywhere.

In addition, the web version has a document repository, a dictionary where you can enter words that you do not want the robot to perceive as mistakes, and a real editor. It is not WYSIWYG, there is no formatting, but there is an interesting module for assessing the readability and complexity of the text. For example, I often find myself trying to wind up the offer more impressively – a common mistake of non-native speakers – and the program can tell when I’m going too far.
